Glow Worms and Rope Swings
Finished the shower, got some dinner, met some of the others staying at the hostel. Told them I was about to go in the Sauna for a bit and a few of them said they would join me. So we went in our separate ways to get the proper gear and then met up on the way down...

I started my first website when I was 15 after a friend showed me how some simple code could alter a page we see on the Internet. At that time, the Internet was still pretty new to me and websites were things I used as tools to help with school reports and papers. After a few minutes of a “show and tell” I decided this was the coolest thing ever. He left me with a book that talked about basic HTML and told me about a few sites where I could create my own webpage for free. My first webpage was on a site hosted by Tripod.com and Geocities.com and I just did some simple text and background images with flashing animated gifs. What a cool thing this website building was.
Fourteen years later I am still working on websites and I still feel this is the coolest thing next to skydiving. Building websites has been a hobby of mine since I was young and in the last 8 years I have taken it as profession and love. As I first began, I was simply writing the basic HTML structure of websites utilizing mass amounts of tables to help with the uniformity of it all. After I had the root HTML known, I moved into CSS and started working on using the CSS attributes as my base skeleton, styling, and soon thereafter effects as well. I spent many years writing pure HTML/CSS by hand using Notepad as my development program. Knowing the core languages by heart helps me understand the layout of code and in writing every line without the use of a program also helped me troubleshoot problematic areas more efficiently.

J.U.I.C.E. Cut & Paste Web Design Challenge
I've been following the Cut & Paste web design challenges for a few years and have always thought that the competitions they put out are inventive and entertaining. The first time I saw a video of the yearly tournament, I was in awe that they were all designing LIVE on Wacom tablets with big screens projecting their work as they go. I thought that was the coolest thing.
At the time, I wasn't ready to put myself up on the board with those talented designers, but as the years passed, I became more and more confident in my ability to design. So in 2009 I entered into the J.U....

Unreal Tournament Clan Website Template
I'd like to think that a lot of us still are kids at heart and play either online computer games or console games. Back in my early twenties, I was an avid UT2K4 (Unreal Tournament 2004) player. I was the guy who would sit up to all hours of the night playing while I fine tuned my skills. After a while I played for a clan called "Killohertz" who were an upper level team based on the West Coast. Set aside that the players were all very good and great team players, the guys on the team were great friends as well.
So after a few months of playing, I opted to design the new website ...

American History X DVD Illustration
While attending school, one of our projects was to pick a celebrity, find a photo of them, and then re-illustrate that person using Illustrator. We could only use 1 gradient mesh to define the basic shape and texture of the face then we had to use basic shapes to illustrate the rest of the photo. At first I had a hard time working with illustrator because I was so used to Photoshop and its tools. But once I found a good photo and started to work on the mesh, I got some confidence and I spent the next 14 hours working away and listening to some music. Before I knew it, it was 3am and I had a pr...

Black & White Colouring
Back when comic books were just starting to hit the motion picture movement, I saw a few and was really impressed with the skill and color the designers used to perfect their artwork. So one weekend I started searching for some B&W drawings that I could use to do some colouring. I did a lot of google searching and MSN searches, but just couldn't find the comic artwork I was looking for. Then I headed over to DeviantArt and started doing some searches and soon after, I found this drawing which I thought would work well with my first digital colouring.
I emailed the owner and...

Bryce3D Rendering and Photoshop Artwork
I've always has a fascination with 3D renderings and the models that artists used to create those fantastic life looking characters. Being someone who when I first started using Photoshop, I hated the program; I was a bit skeptic about working in the 3D environments. So I decided to start small and just try some abstract renderings that I've seen other people on DeviantArt produce using basic shapes and then mirrored effects. Then those users would import the design into Photoshop and do some amazing 2D artwork.
I opened Bryce3D and started working on the ovals and shapes, then ...

MicroVue YKL-40 Website*
The YKL-40 website was a site that was in a big need to reach the 21st century in design and development. The current site was designed over 10 years ago and was a one page JPG image noting some particulars about the product. In late 2008 the Product Marketing Manager along with the Director of Marketing requested a meeting to discuss a new site design. We held our initial needs and requirements meeting a week later and I was given the new trademark to work off of. The new box design was still being worked on and the photos and layout were still being tossed around the Regulatory department. <...

Shop Grip It Business Cards
Shop Grip It Business cards were fun to work on because they wanted them bright and colorful. I had already worked on the website for them and after getting their new logo sent to me, it opened all new doors in which direction to take these business cards.
Currently the company has an operating capacity of 4-5 people and they wanted each person to have a card, but with different colors so as easy to distinguish between others and also make the customers look twice at the cards to see if there was anything new on this "green" card that wasn't on the "orange" card....
